Sonoma Coast Surfrider

Greetings!

Attending the monthly meeting of Sonoma Coast Surfrider in Sebastopol a few weeks ago, I learned that the Surfrider Foundation local chapter is talking about taking a more active role in monitoring ocean water quality at several Sonoma beaches.  The Blue Water Task Force of Surfrider Foundation supports its local chapters to adopt a variety of program models to monitor, test, and publicize the quality of water on coasts around the world.

SCS has organized two fundraisers recently, and has some funds and volunteers interested in providing some services locally.  Members at the meeting resolved to do some research before deciding specifically what they would undertake.

Sonoma County Ocean Water Monitoring Background

Greetings!

Many people and organizations have stepped up to the task of protecting water quality in Sonoma County over the past twenty years.  As a recent enthusiast, and a new member of Sonoma Coast Surfrider, I need to know who they are and what contributions they have provided.

This blog is intended for that purpose.  As I attend meetings, meet key players, and learn what I can about what has and is happening, I'll provide the information as usefully as possible here.
